Suffering is an inevitable part of human life. As Christians, we have a unique approach to suffering modeled after the redemptive work or Christ. Lewis is one all Christians are called to respond to, whether through personal experience or in relationship with the Body of Christ.

Description

Prayer is an essential part of Christian life, and the basis of a deepening relationship with Christ. Learn about the rich traditions of prayer that are part of the Church, and above all, how to hear the voice of God to know His love more and allow Him to impact the world through you.

Biography

Apologetics come from the Greek word apologia, or to “speak in defense of”. It goes further than simply knowing what the Church teaches, but seeks to understand why the Church teaches what it does in order to both understand God’s truth and communicate it to others. St. Paul said, “Always be ready to give an explanation for the hope that is found in you”, and this workshop will help you to do just that by covering such topics as Mary’s role in the Church, Jesus’ true presence in the Eucharist, the celibate priesthood, purgatory and more.

This is the Year of the Priest, and as Mother Theresa said, priests literally bring the grace of God to the people of the Church, especially through the sacraments. Come and learn about the evolving role of the priest in being a self-emptying missionary to the world.

Women and men religious have an incredible call from God to become His spouses on earth. Learn everything you ever wanted to know about life as a religious, and the incredible ways God can use the actions and simple presence of consecrated men and women in a mission of love to the world.

Description

The relationship between Christians of different faiths will be discussed in this workshop, and participants will gain a greater understanding of the challenges and rewards of being called to be a missionary within Christianity.
