Father Frédéric Verscheure

At 20, Frederic was doing well – smart, good at sports and “practically a non-believer”. But he fell in love with the Lord during Mass on Pentecost Sunday 1994. He decided to say yes to a call to be a priest, and so share the fire of Pentecost.

 

He joined the Emmanuel community and became a missionary priest in 2001. From the Diocese of Namur in Belgium, he came on loan in 2007 to serve the Archdiocese of Quebec City and start another Emmanuel community.

 

He served as chaplain for the New Ark of the Covenant pilgrimage, which was part of the 2008 International Eucharistic Congress, and was also responsible for the Congress youth service. Since then, he has been pastor of Saint Thomas Aquinas parish in Quebec City, where his particular focus is youth, the poor, pregnant women in stress, and families...

Father Mark Goring

Fr. Mark joined the Companions of the Cross when he was 18 and was ordained to the priesthood in 2002 at age 26.  He has served as Associate Pastor for St. Mary's Parish in Ottawa and as Director of Admissions for the Companions.  He is currently Chaplain of the Catholic Chaplaincy at York University.  He is a conference speaker, author and appears regularly on "Food for Life" television program.  Fr. Mark is a wonderful and inspiring preacher. His ability to make profound truths of the faith easily accessible to his listeners lies at the heart of his ministry.

Caroline Gambale Dirkes

Caroline Gambale Dirkes is a dynamic and passionate evangelist. Her motto is that "you need to do the ridiculous to see the miraculous!" By sharing incredible stories, she keeps her audience engaged and wanting more. She has been active in evangelization and youth ministry for 16 years. She works as the Director of Evangelization at St. Joseph’s Parish in Hillsborough, NJ and serves as a member of the National Service Committee for the Charismatic Renewal. She was the former Eastern Regional Director for LIFE TEEN and Diocesan Director for Youth Ministry in the Archdiocese of Newark. Caroline and her husband Dan also founded 2Tim4 Ministries: a ministry that focuses on training leaders on how to effectively share the Gospel and doing direct evangelization where needed. 

Caroline is a 1993 graduate of the Franciscan University of Steubenville with a bachelor’s degree in Theology and Psychology.  Caroline has spoken internationally at numerous rallies, retreats and conferences including the National Charismatic Leadership Conference, Steubenville Youth Confernece, National Catholic Youth Conference and Life Teen Training Conferences.

Caroline delights in being the mom of Catherine Ann Dirkes who is 14 months old and is expecting a baby boy in July.  She has been married to her husband Dan for 3 years.

Archbishop Paul-André Durocher

His Excellency, the Most Reverend Paul-André Durocher was born in Windsor, Ontario, (Diocese of London) on May 28, 1954, the eldest of seven children of Maurice Durocher and Lucille Duplantie.

 

An active member of both the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario, he presently sits on the Executive committee of the CCCB as co-treasurer and on the Commission for Liturgy and Sacraments (French sector). He is also a member of the Education Commission of the ACBO with special responsibility for their French-language catechetical office, OPECO.  

 

Bishop Durocher was a delegate of the Canadian Bishops to the Bishops’ Synod on the Eucharist which was held in Rome in October 2005. He also was chosen as national delegate for the CCCB (French Sector) to the Organizing Committee for the International Eucharistic Congress which was held in Québec City in June 2008.

 

He was a member of the committee which produced the Canadian edition of a French-language hymnal for the CCCB, D’une même voix. His “Missa Lumen Christi” was chosen as the setting for the closing Mass with Pope John Paul II at World Youth Day in Toronto in 2002. He was commissioned to write a special hymn for French Canada to celebrate Advent in 2009.
