MATT MAHER

mattmaher_album

From the United States, Matt Maher is not just a singer, a guitarist or even a pianist. It’s a group - an ensemble of talent!

Kemi Ndolo is bass player and part of the chorus. Kenny Butler plays electric guitar. Dan Hinze is percussionist. And Matt Maher is lead.

“The meaning of life and the mystery of death are weighty topics that have inspired creative souls for centuries, but rarely has an artist taken a more compelling - or more vulnerable - exploration into those themes than singer/songwriter Matt Maher,” says his producer.

Because of public and professional recognition he had already gained, Matt Maher was part of Michael W. Smith’s  A New Hallelujah world tour, along with (no less!) Meredith Andrews and Phil Stacey.

Following his first album, Empty & Beautiful, which propelled his name into a realm generally reserved for more experienced composers, Matt Maher showed his abilities to build bridges with 12 convincing new titles.

These titles, he hopes, will lead people “back to their own hearts” and “prompt listeners to stop and ask some tough questions about who they are and where they are letting God maneuver in their hearts. And in doing that, experience the heart of the passion, death and resurrection” of Jesus Christ. Matt Maher is unique pop-rock composer and performer everyone wants to know.

“Maher is a self-described ‘musical missionary,’ and the road-worn feel of these songs brings to mind the heart of

Rich Mullins or, stylistically, the later work of George Harrison.”                                                               - Worship Leader

CHÂKIDOR

chakidor_photo_officielle

Châkidor is a special kind of folklore, mixing folk, country and blue grass, harmonized with a Celtic touch. A musical universe as varied as it is entertaining. Moving from Irish music to bluegrass, from classic to country, from Cajun to medieval, Châkidor invites you on an amusing voyage. There’s no limit to singer André Varin and violinist Valérie Pichon.

Theirs is an energy-filled and humorous duo. Perhaps you know the saying, “Don’t wake the sleeping cat ...” (le chat qui dort...)? Châkidor has played in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada, as well as the United States, France and Germany. None of their many tours left audiences disappointed.

CHORALE GOSPEL OUTAOUAIS

chorale_gospel_outaouais

Chorale Gospel interprets Afro-American gospel music into French - a unique world accomplishment - keeping the same inspiring message about Jesus Christ and the same powerful rhythms as gospel music.

Since their beginning, the Chorale has developed its mission in four key areas:

1. Quality Sunday liturgical animation

2. Support for parishes by providing mini-concerts to raise funds for local projects

3. Concerts featuring 20 songs, all focusing on a particular theme

4. Creation of a multicultural space open to other faith groups, without proselytizing. Made up of youth and adults, Asians, Africans and Westeners, the Chorale reflects the reality of the Ottawa region.
