Background

Youth Summit is a nation-wide gathering of young adults who are seeking together to deepen and live out their faith. Each annual event has a theme, which aims at helping them rediscover their Christian mission and the Person of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

This weekend-long event was originally established to prepare youth coming from across Canada and other nations for the 49th International Eucharistic Congress, held in Quebec City in 2008. This first Youth Summit had a great impact on the attending youth and responded to a need among them. Youth Summits have been held each year ever since. After their early years in the Archdiocese of Quebec, Youth Summit now moves from diocese to diocese so that different regions across our province have the chance to host these important gatherings of Christian youth.

Just as a three-year period of diocesan preparation follows the international World Youth Days, a similar journey of organization leads up to the Youth Summit weekend. In fellowship and communion, Canadian youth are called to make the climb all the way to this key weekend in the Church of Quebec. Their summit is the Eucharistic Christ. He awaits them in the promise of a personal encounter.
